Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Every frequently asked question about Qrindo in one place: dynamic codes, pricing, printing, analytics, and comparisons.

About the platform

Will my printed QR still work if I change the destination?

Yes — that’s the whole point. The QR encodes a permanent short URL we own. You re-point the short URL from the dashboard or API, the printed code never changes.

Can I bring my own domain?

Custom domains are coming soon. Add a CNAME, we’ll issue the TLS cert, and your links go out as go.yourbrand.com/sprng25.

How fast is the redirect?

Redirects are designed to resolve in well under 50ms in-region. Hot links are served straight from Redis; cold links land from Postgres on first hit, then cache.

Do you store the IP address of every scanner?

No. We hash the IP with a daily-rotating salt to compute uniques, then drop the raw value. Country and city are derived at write time, never stored against an identity.

Is there a self-hosted version?

Not yet, but we’re considering it for Enterprise customers. Reach out at info@folowise.com if you’re interested.

Are there any limits right now?

No. During launch everything is unlimited — links, scans, API calls, workspaces. We’ll introduce fair-use tiers later, and early adopters keep generous access forever.

Free QR Code Generator

Is this QR code free?

Yes — completely free, with no watermark and no sign-up. You own the downloaded image.

Does it expire?

No. This is a static QR — it encodes your link directly, so it works forever. But if you want to change the destination later or track scans, create a dynamic Qrindo code.

What size should I print?

Download the SVG for print — it scales to any size without blur. A good rule: at least 2×2 cm for tabletop, larger for posters.

Free WiFi QR Code Generator

Is my password safe?

The QR is generated entirely in your browser — your password never leaves your device or touches our servers.

Which phones support WiFi QR?

Modern iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android (10+) cameras join automatically when they scan a WiFi QR.

Free vCard / Business Card QR Code

Can I edit it after printing?

A static vCard QR is fixed. For a card you can update (new role, new number) without reprinting, use a dynamic Qrindo vCard.

Free WhatsApp QR Code Generator

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No — it works with any WhatsApp account. WhatsApp Business just adds catalog and automation features.

Free PDF QR Code Generator

Where do I host the PDF?

Anywhere with a public URL (Google Drive, Dropbox, your website). For a PDF you can swap out later without reprinting, upload it to a dynamic Qrindo code.

Digital Menu QR Codes for Restaurants & Cafés

Can I change prices without printing a new QR code?

Yes. The QR code points to your live menu, so any edit you make appears instantly without reprinting anything.

Do guests need to install an app to view the menu?

No. Scanning opens the menu directly in any phone browser, with no downloads or sign-ups required.

Get More Google Reviews with a Single QR Code

Can I change the review link later?

Yes. Because the QR is dynamic, you can update the destination anytime without printing a new code.

Will I be able to see how many people scanned it?

Yes. Your dashboard shows total scans along with location and device details over time.

QR Codes for Property Listings & Agent vCards

Can a buyer save my contact details from the QR?

Yes. The vCard saves your name, phone, and email to the buyer phone in a single tap.

Can I use one code style across all my listings?

Yes. You can apply your branded design to every property QR while tracking each one separately.

QR Codes for Event Check-In & Schedules

Can guests add the event to their calendar?

Yes. The page includes an add-to-calendar (.ics) file that saves the date in one tap.

Can I update the schedule after I print the code?

Yes. The QR is dynamic, so schedule changes appear instantly without reprinting anything.

Dynamic Product QR Codes for Retail & Promotions

Can I change where the code points after printing?

Yes. The code is dynamic, so you can re-point it to any page or promo at any time without reprinting.

Can I see which products get the most scans?

Yes. Your dashboard breaks down scans by code over time, with location and device details.

Parking QR Codes That Reach You Without Showing Your Number

Does the person scanning see my phone number?

No. Your phone number and email are never rendered on the page. The scanner only sees a message form, and the message is relayed to you privately.

Does the other driver need an app to contact me?

No. Scanning opens a plain web form in any phone browser, with no downloads or sign-ups required.

QR Tags for Equipment, Rentals & Lost-and-Found

Can a finder see my phone number or email on the tag page?

No. The page shows a message form and your instructions only. Messages are relayed to you privately by notification and email.

Can I change what a tag shows after it is printed?

Yes. The QR is dynamic, so you can update the template, instructions, or destination anytime without reprinting the tag.

Link-in-Bio Pages with a QR Code & Scan Analytics

Can I change my links after printing the QR code?

Yes. The QR points to your live bio page, so any link you add, remove, or reorder appears instantly without reprinting.

Does the page work in Arabic?

Yes. Bio pages are mobile-first and support Arabic and English with full right-to-left layout.

White-Label QR Campaigns for Agencies & Resellers

Will my clients see any Qrindo branding?

No. With white-label enabled, landing pages carry your brand only and can be served on your own custom domain.

Can I control what each team member can edit?

Yes. Workspace roles let admins manage everything while editors and members work only on the links assigned to them.

Qrindo vs QR Tiger

Can I migrate my QR Tiger codes?

Static codes encode their content directly, so they keep working. For dynamic codes, recreate them in Qrindo and re-point your printed codes via a redirect — our API makes bulk creation easy.

Qrindo vs ME-QR

Does Qrindo put ads on my QR codes?

Never. No ads on any tier — your codes and landing pages stay 100% yours.

Qrindo vs Bitly

Is Qrindo cheaper than Bitly for QR?

For QR-centric use, yes — Qrindo bundles dynamic QR, design, landing pages and analytics without Bitly’s higher-tier pricing for QR features.

Qrindo vs QR Code Monkey

Is QR Code Monkey really free?

The static generator is free; the API and some features are paid. Qrindo is fully free during launch — dynamic codes, analytics, API and design studio, no card required.

How do I migrate from QR Code Monkey to Qrindo?

Your static Monkey codes keep working since the content is encoded in the code itself. For anything new, create dynamic Qrindo codes — you can edit the destination later, track scans, and export PNG/SVG/PDF or bulk ZIP via the API.

Qrindo vs Uniqode

Is Uniqode free?

Uniqode offers a limited trial, but real use is paid — with per-seat pricing on team plans. Qrindo is fully free during launch: dynamic codes, analytics, API, workspaces and design studio, no card required.

How do I migrate from Uniqode to Qrindo?

Recreate your dynamic codes in Qrindo (the API makes bulk creation quick) and re-point printed materials via a redirect. Landing pages — bio, menu, event, vCard — can be rebuilt with Qrindo page types, including full Arabic + RTL versions.

Qrindo vs Flowcode

Is Flowcode free?

Flowcode has a limited free tier, but its serious features are on paid and enterprise plans that often require talking to sales. Qrindo is fully free during launch — everything included, no card and no sales call.

How do I migrate from Flowcode to Qrindo?

Recreate your codes as dynamic Qrindo codes (bulk creation via the API takes minutes), rebuild landing pages with Qrindo page types, and re-point printed codes via a redirect. Once moved, our "your QR never dies" policy keeps them redirecting even if you later stop paying.

Qrindo vs QRCodeChimp

Is QRCodeChimp free?

QRCodeChimp has a free tier with limits, and its advanced features sit on paid plans. Qrindo is fully free during launch — dynamic codes, routing, workspaces, API and the design studio, no card required.

How do I migrate from QRCodeChimp to Qrindo?

Recreate your codes as dynamic Qrindo codes and re-point printed materials via a redirect. Landing pages (bio, menu, review, event, vCard) map to Qrindo page types, and the bulk API plus ZIP export make moving a large catalog fast.

Dynamic vs static QR codes: which should you use?

Can I convert a static QR code into a dynamic one?

Not after printing — the data inside the image is fixed. You need to generate a new dynamic code and reprint. That is why it pays to decide before your first print run, not after.

Do dynamic QR codes scan slower than static ones?

The camera reads them equally fast — often faster, because the short URL makes a less dense pattern. The redirect adds only a few tens of milliseconds before the page opens, which nobody notices in practice.

What happens to my Qrindo codes if I stop paying?

They keep redirecting to their last destination. Qrindo’s "never dies" policy means no ads, no hijacking, and no dead links — editing and analytics simply pause until the plan is active again.

QR menus for restaurants: the complete setup guide

Do guests need an app to open a QR menu?

No. The phone camera on any modern iPhone or Android reads the code and opens the menu in the browser — no download, no sign-up, no friction.

Should I link the QR to a PDF menu or a web page?

A web page, almost always. PDFs force pinch-zooming on phones, load slowly on cellular, and cannot adapt layout for Arabic RTL. A mobile menu page is faster, searchable, and instantly editable.

How much does it cost to run QR menus with Qrindo?

Qrindo is free during its launch period — dynamic codes, the menu landing page, per-table analytics, and design tools included. And thanks to the "never dies" policy, printed codes keep redirecting no matter what.

QR code size, contrast and quiet zone: a print quality checklist

What is the minimum size for a QR code on a business card?

2×2 cm, treated as a hard floor. Encode a short link rather than a long URL to keep the pattern sparse, and print from vector (SVG/PDF) so the tiny modules stay crisp.

Which error correction level should I choose?

M (15%) for clean digital use, Q (25%) for most print, H (30%) whenever a logo covers part of the code. Higher levels add density, so don’t pick H "just in case" on a tiny code.

My styled QR looks fine on screen but won’t scan when printed. Why?

Usual suspects, in order: not enough contrast on the actual paper, a cropped quiet zone, a logo or eye style that distorts the finder patterns, or a low-resolution PNG scaled up. Print one proof and test with several phones before every run.

How to track QR code scans: analytics that actually help

Can I track scans of a static QR code?

Not directly — a static scan goes straight from camera to destination with no server in between. The closest workaround is encoding a URL with UTM tags so your web analytics sees the visits; for real scan analytics you need a dynamic, redirect-based code.

Does QR scan tracking identify individual people?

No. It sees anonymous request data: time, approximate city, device type. Qrindo additionally hashes IP addresses and sets no cookies, so even the raw identifiers are never stored — you get aggregate insight, not personal surveillance.

How far back does scan history go?

It depends on the provider’s retention policy. Qrindo keeps 365 days of scan history, which is what you need for year-over-year seasonal comparisons — and you can export CSV at any time to archive data on your side indefinitely.
